AMRITANI -THERAPY
COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY
“The mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive, but in finding something to live for.”
– Fyodor Dostoyevsky
About me
My name is Amritani Katarzyna Zuchniewicz and I am a qualified Psychosynthesis Counsellor with a background in psychology and Yoga philosophy. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association for Psychospiritual Practitioners (APP). I am therefore bound by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am a subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure.
My private practice is based in the Dorset Practice. Apart from this, I work with a local charity helping victims of various forms of abuse. My professional experience in a helping field started in 2008 when, having been helped by my first, great Yoga teacher who introduced me to meditation practices in very difficult times of my life, I felt inspired to give something back to the community and began working with vulnerable individuals. Since then, I have continued both this type of work and my Yoga practice, whilst developing educationally, personally and professionally.
I began to provide a counselling service in 2019 and soon realised how I felt in my element doing it. Throughout my professional life, I have worked within various roles and have been influenced by integrative, Person-Centred, transpersonal, humanistic, CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing as well as Yoga and art therapy approaches, and I draw from these approaches in my practice. I have worked with individuals experiencing mental health problems including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and all forms of abuse, addictions, traumas, lack of self-esteem/sense of self, poor coping skills, emotional dysregulation, loss, crime issues, cognitive impairment, stress, relationship issues, identity crisis, existential dilemmas, search for deeper values and more.
